Barrenness

The spiritual is represented by the physical

• Spiritual - Word of the Lord was rare then
• Physical - the Lord closed Hannah's womb (1 Sam 1:5)

Blindness

• Spiritual - Eli was a blind parent
• Physical - Eli was a blind priest (1 Sam 1:13-14)

Why? Because everyone did right in their own eyes (Judges 21:25)

We Meet the God who SPEAKS

Does God Speak? YES!

• Samuel misses the call of God because He does not know the Lord

What if I miss God speaking to me?

• Our ignorance is not God's deterrence (Isa 55:11)

When God speaks...

• Blindness is removed (1 Sam 3:8-9)
• Barrenness is removed (1 Sam 3:10-14)

How does God speak?

• According to His Word
• Personally
• Relationally

We behold the God who speaks and become people who speak His Word.
