Psa 73:1-14
Asaph's Story
"God, the wicked seem to have it good, and I feel tricked"
- The temptation is for ease in the now
- The lie is that He's not worth it
Psa 73:15-16
Processing aloud is not always best
- "I am going to make this make sense"
- "I cannot make this make sense"
The best way to deal with the questions we have while in the world is to be in the Presence of God.
Justice: God's sense of right an good in the world
- It is not fairness
- It is true for nations, systems, and individuals
- It is not an expression of His anger but of His goodness
Psa73:16-22
Perspective
- "I don't have to handle it because God will"
- "I can trust God to handle it better than I could"
- "I can see the evil in my own heart"
Psa 73:19-20, Psa 73:23-24
Patience
- God's timing is not ours and will not be thwarted
- He wait for the sake of repentance (2 Pet 3:9)
- Our faith gets expressed in perseverance
- Our faith get expressed inself-patience
Peace
- Satisfaction - the inward expression
- Safety - the lived expression
