Psa 73:1-14

Asaph's Story

"God, the wicked seem to have it good, and I feel tricked"

  • The temptation is for ease in the now
  • The lie is that He's not worth it

Psa 73:15-16

Processing aloud is not always best

  • "I am going to make this make sense"
  • "I cannot make this make sense"

The best way to deal with the questions we have while in the world is to be in the Presence of God.

Justice: God's sense of right an good in the world

  • It is not fairness
  • It is true for nations, systems, and individuals
  • It is not an expression of His anger but of His goodness

Psa73:16-22

Perspective

  • "I don't have to handle it because God will"
  • "I can trust God to handle it better than I could"
  • "I can see the evil in my own heart"

Psa 73:19-20, Psa 73:23-24

Patience

  • God's timing is not ours and will not be thwarted
  • He wait for the sake of repentance (2 Pet 3:9)
  • Our faith gets expressed in perseverance
  • Our faith get expressed inself-patience

Peace

  • Satisfaction - the inward expression
  • Safety - the lived expression
