Peace of Mind

Phil 4:6-7

• Carry anxiety to our detriment
  • The safety and value we desire are not self-produced
• Cast anxiety on God
  • Tell God the truth (1 Pet 5:7)
• The Spirit reminds us He is the God who cares for us

Peace in Circumstances

John 16:33

• Situations outside our control
• Situations under our control that are neither easy nor predictable
• Fixate on Him, not on the problem (Isa 26:3)

Peace in Relationships

Rom 12:18

• Are you promoting safety and value to those around you?
  • The Spirit helps us see them for who they are
  • The Spirit helps us keep working at it (Rom 14:19, Eph 4:3)
• You owe the Kingdom your best effort
  • Peacemaking and peacekeeping are not the same
  • The goal is not to win but to bring to the surface the Spirit-driven stuff so He can do His work
• Peacemaking includes perspective
  • Pursuing peace means you can remain right and still pursue relationship
  • Pursuing peace requires relational wisdom (Prov 26:4-5)
