Mal 2:17

• Condemnation 1: speaking without doing
• Condemnation 2: inversion of good and evil
  • We "do justice" when we honor the image of God in people and desire God's best for them
  • Immorality - it's not right to do things that are not right
  • Greed - it's not right to love stuff more than people
  • Lying - it's not right to say what we know is not true
• Condemnation 3: accusing God of injustice via absence
  • "We tried to live Your way and it didn't help us or bless us"

God's Four-Step Plan to Deal with Evil

Mal 3:1-4

1. Send a messenger
2. Show up Himself
3. Purify His people - through consuming and cleansing
4. Ready them to live in God's presence

In Jesus the Messiah, He puts our sin on Himself (v. 1) and goes through the fire and takes the beating (v. 2-3).

Because of Jesus, God can destroy evil without destroying us.
