Root of the Attitude

• Because they didn't fear God, they thought obedience was optional
• Because they didn't fear God, they didn't walk in His wisdom (Prov 1:7)

It is built into the system that God designed

• Prophets - Isaiah 1:16-17
• Psalms - Psalm 68:4-6
• Law - Deut 24:17-22

It is the story of God's Deliverance

• We invite people into what we have been invited into
• The early church saw orphan care as an opportunity, not an issue

It is doing to and and discovering God is right there!

• We love and serve God, in part, by loving and serving those who are in need because in doing so we are (literally) serving Him
