John 19:15-16
Guilt
- Legal standing before God is changed
- We cannot help Him carry it
- We do not have to carry it
- We do not have to live with it
Prior guilt becomes a point of rejoicing.

John 6:37-40
John 19:23-24
Shame
- Fear of disconnection
- Sin makes us hide, seeking shelter and covering
- Controlling, perfecting, numbing, blaming
- At its core, it's the feeling of being unworthy of love or belonging
John:19-25-27
Questions about God's Love
- When it doesn't go right, does God still love me?
- If you come to the cross, you will not leave unloved
- Not distant from our "real lives"
- Bigger than what we call life
